Liz Broekhuyse was born in Sydney, Australia, and now lives in San Carlos, California.
Since graduating from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication in 2012, Liz has worked as a professional graphic designer. Meanwhile, she has been developing a growing body of work in art, illustration and fashion.
Her work carries the influence of her graphic design training - reflecting an interest in simplified, flat planes of color and strong compositions.
The rebellion to her graphic design training results in an interest in absurd surrealism, touchable texture and expressive brushwork celebrating the hand of the artist.
